NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – State lawmakers advanced a bill Thursday (5/9) aimed at curbing who can become the St. Tammany Parish Coroner and the power that coroner has.
The bill has sailed through the legislature with little opposition and now needs passage in the full House of Representatives before landing on the governor’s desk.
Meanwhile, the recall campaign will have to main a steady stream of signatures in the coming months to reach its goal.
Both the bill and the campaign are products of concern about Tape’s past.
